Simcha on the Square

Trafalgar Square
Sunday 14 October 2007

12 noon - 6pm

Simcha on the Square is a celebration of Jewish culture. This one-day event in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 14 October featured a vast array of high quality traditional and contemporary Jewish performances, arts and crafts and contributions from community groups from around the UK. Free for all to attend, Simcha featured Jewish music and live performance, food and other family friendly activities aimed at all Londoners. Simcha is organised by the Mayor's office, working with Jewish Culture UK and a range of Jewish organisations.

The first Simcha on the Square, in 2006, was part of a year long programme of events marking the 350th anniversary of Jewish life in Britain, and it included the Identities 2006 exhibition at the Jewish Museum, to which the Mayor also gave support.
