What an amazing week!

Big Dance 2008 (5-13 July) is now over, but what an incredible week of events. There were an estimated half a million participants in London and over 500 events across the capital. There were all kinds of dance world records broken including the biggest remote dance class on 12 July and the biggest Bollywood dance class with 278 participants and the largest number of streetdance moves in one minute. A new world record was set with 22 kip-ups on 6 July.

Big Dance map

London is a world centre for dance. The Big Dance Map (PDF) features the city's top dance venues - some of the events listed have now taken place, but the map is still a great place to start finding out more about dance venues in the capital.

Keep dancing

Big Dance aims to encourage more people to take part and watch dance all year round. Visit the Keep dancing page for information about what's on.

Big Dance video

Watch the video from the Big Dance event in Trafalgar Square, choreographed by Aletta Collins. 2,008 members of the public were invited to learn the dance online and then turn up on 12 July 2008 and dance!
