Working in Europe

We’re making sure our interests are heard and taken into account by EU policymakers when new EU legislation and policies are developed.

We’re making sure our interests are heard and taken into account by EU policymakers when new EU legislation and policies are developed.
Through our representative office in Brussels, we ensure that London’s experts are involved in advising EU policy developments in areas such as regional policy, climate change, environment, transport, policing and social inclusion.
London's European Office
Giving London a voice in Europe
Much of what we do in London is influenced by policies and legislation decided at EU level. In addition, EU financial instruments are important sources of funding that help to implement new ideas in London and develop partnerships with other major European cities.
London's European Office provides London with a clear voice in the EU, to ensure that our interests are taken into account by EU policy-makers when new initiatives are developed, and we facilitate access to funding for London to maximise our gain from the EU.
This involves advising the GLA Group on EU issues, promoting good practice from London to the EU and ensuring that London’s experts are involved in advising EU decision makers in areas such as regional development, climate change, environment, transport, security and social inclusion.
