The aim of the Mayor’s Mentoring Programme is to provide 12 month relationships to 1,000 marginalised black boys aged 10-16 across seven London boroughs, to support them to make positive choices with regards to education, employment and training.
MD856 authorised the awarding of £1.3 million to the University of East London to deliver this programme, against a total budget of £1.373 million allocated to “Mentoring for Young People at Risk” in MD826. This MD concerns approval for alterations to extend the existing delivery model to provide better value for money for Londoners and to augment the current delivery approach for the Mayor’s Mentoring Programme.
