Biography

Victoria was born in London and has lived and worked here all her life. Married to Jamie, they have four children; she has been a Kensington and Chelsea Councillor since 2002, and is Chairman of Borough Community Relations. In 2012, she is Deputy Mayor to Cllr Christopher Buckmaster. On the MPA, as Chairman of the Civil Liberties Panel, she led the scrutiny of public order policing “Responding to G20” and the scrutiny of the use of DNA in policing, “Protecting the innocent.”

As Chairman of the Health and Public Services committee at the GLA, Victoria has worked in cross party groups on improving access to childcare, reducing fuel poverty, improving accessibility to public loos in London, a review of the emergency services including detailed work on the London Ambulance Service and how the GLA can help Children in Care.

A proven campaigner, Victoria worked for the OPEN EUROPE Think Tank campaigning to raise awareness on the issue of a European constitution and European regulations. Prior to this she worked in the Treasurer’s Department at the Conservative Party Headquarters, and has previously held senior management positions at the P&O Group.

Following the May 2012 elections, the Mayor of London appointed Victoria as Statutory Deputy Mayor of London.
