Sustainability Appraisal, October 2007 PDF ESOL reportRecognising the vital role that English language training plays in promoting economic prosperity and community cohesion the Board commissioned research to understand and explore the critical issues for ESOL in more detail. The purpose was to identify what progress was already being made in creating more effective ESOL, and the key blockages that continue to prevent this progress from being rolled out. ESOL report PDF In response to this report the Board appreciated the importance of opening up a dialogue with providers to develop the solutions needed to strengthen the effectiveness of ESOL in the capital. The Board sponsored an event to give the opportunity for providers, public agencies, Board members and other key contributors to work together to build ideas to step up the progress in developing more effective ESOL support for individuals and for employers.
