Ian El-Mokadem was Group Managing Director, UK & Ireland for Compass Group plc.

Prior to joining Compass in May 2006, Ian held various roles at Centrica plc. He led its telecoms division, which traded under the Onetel and British Gas brands, from launch in 2000 to the sale of the business to the Carphone Warehouse in December 2005. Ian joined Centrica in 1997 as Head of Gas Competition and went on to be Head of Market Operations and subsequently Director of Marketing and Strategy at British Gas. Ian’s early career was with Andersen Consulting’s (now Accenture’s) strategy practice.

Ian has a BSc in Economics and Statistics from University College London and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He is married with two children and lives in London.
