London Skills and Employment BoardWelcome to the website of the London Skills and Employment Board (LSEB), established to provide leadership in improving adult skills and employment in London. The LSEB is chaired by the Mayor of London and is employer-led to ensure that its work is driven by the needs of employers and that skills provision meets the existing and future needs of the London workforce. The BoardOn 14 October, the Mayor announced the reappointment of twelve existing members and the appointment of nine new members to the London Skills and Employment Board. The Board includes top London business leaders, large employers, small businesses, education specialists, local authorities and union representation. The Mayor chairs the Board, with Harvey McGrath as vice chair. View all board members. London’s FutureIn July 2008, the Mayor launched the Board’s first Skills and Employment Strategy for London - London’s Future: The Skills and Employment Strategy for London 2008 – 2013. It sets out a blueprint for the changes required to improve employment and skills outcomes for Londoners and London employers over the next five years. London’s Future executive summary PDF Implementation plansTo accompany the Strategy, the Board published implementation plans covering the three Strategic Aims of the Strategy. These plans form the basis by which the Board’s ambitions will be realised.The delivery of the Implementation Plans is being led by the Joint Delivery Group which is made up of the LDA, LSC and Jobcentre Plus. The Group will work closely with other delivery partners and stakeholders to ensure that skills and employment outcomes improve across the capital. |
