Central government

Government Office for London (GoL) represents central Government in London. It works with a wide range of partner organisations to promote the Government’s policies and help achieve its objectives.

GoL also represents London’s interests within the Government.is responsible for administering forty spending programmes in London, with expenditure totalling over £2.5 billion in 2003-04.

The Government Office for London (GOL) and the London Strategic Health Authorities are largely accountable through national government and therefore the national UK elections.
