Examples of London employers taking action to provide Good Jobs.

We're in the business of promoting good jobs.

Our employer campaign aims to raise awareness that 'good' jobs make businesses more productive, effective and competitive, especially in a tough economic climate. We are particularly keen to help London's small and medium businesses to take action to make their jobs 'good' and offer a wealth of practical advice to spark new ideas and new ways of working.

Who are we?

We are London Works for Better Health, a London Health Commission programme, hosted by the Greater London Authority. View a list of our partnership organisations.

What is a good job?

Employers who offer good jobs are consultative, supportive and flexible, creating conditions in which their people can succeed and thrive at work. The result is a healthier workforce and a more profitable, high performing and productive workplace.

On 7 December 2009 the London Health Commission welcomed over 175 businesses to City Hall for the official launch of the Good Jobs campaign. Watch Boris Johnson and others lend their support in this short film made at the event.

That's why a workplace that's well designed, limits stress and where one can easily take a break not only minimises losses from illness but also shows how much you value your people. A more alert and resilient workforce is a foundation for a stronger and more competitive business.
