‘Loyal, skilled, trained, healthy and happy staff – a recipe for business growth’
Speaker: Alex Smith, Founder and Director, Alara Wholefoods Ltd
Alara was the first certified organic cereal company in the world and produces 60% of the UK’s organic muesli (over 70 tonnes a week) in its factory north of King’s Cross. In an ever changing and developing industry it relies on its 50-strong staff team to be loyal, skilled, and full of good ideas. In return Alara offers free breakfast and lunch for all staff, and the opportunity to work in its community garden instead of on the production line half a day a week. Turnover has increased by 10-20% year on year for the last five years.
