Adapting to climate change
A case study companion to the checklist for development
The Adapting to climate change: a case study companion to the checklist for development provides case studies of developments or buildings that use techniques relevant to key climate change adaptations issues such as location, site layout, ventilation, drainage, water, outdoor spaces and connectivity. The examples were chosen because they demonstrate techniques or design features which can minimise exposure to climate risk through their design life.
As the public becomes more aware of the advantages of development that incorporates adaptation measures and planning policy incorporates resilience to climate change. It is anticipated that this will be one way that developers will be able to acquire a premium.
The Adapting to climate change: a case study companion to the checklist for development, is intended to be read in conjunction with the Checklist for Development, guidance on designing develoments in a changing climate, also provided on the LCCP webpages.
