How to apply

Detailed information for each job opportunity is available by clicking on the links at the bottom of each job advert to open the application booklet and application form. If you decide that you would like to apply for the role, please complete the application form using the PDF or RTF versions available.

We are unable to accept CV applications.

Completed applications should be returned by email to glajobs@london.gov.uk, or by post to:

GLA Jobs
The Greater London Authority
The Queen’s Walk
London SE1 2AA.

The deadline for completed applications is 12 noon on the date given at the top of the application form. Please ensure that we receive your application before this time as we are unable to accept late applications.

We try to consider all applications received and make a decision on who we would like to invite for an interview within two weeks of the application closing date. However for popular roles where we have received a high number of applications, it may take us a little longer.

We contact all candidates to notify them of the outcome of their application.

The selection process

The selection process will vary depending on the role, but as a minimum you should expect to complete an application form and if shortlisted, attend a panel interview. For many roles we ask candidates to complete a test exercise in addition to their interview. All test exercises are designed to test the skills, knowledge and experience required to be successful in the role, and may include a written exercise, an in-tray exercise or preparing and delivering a presentation.

You may also find it useful to read the comprehensive information in our 'Get a job with the GLA' booklet. The booklet contains information about our application packs, tips on completing application forms as well as tips on preparing for interview.

If you have a question about the recruitment process, please contact a member of the HR unit by emailing glajobs@london.gov.uk, or by telephone on 020 7983 4143/4230 [text phone 4157].
