Guaranteed Interview Scheme
The GLA is committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. As part of this commitment we operate a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
What we mean by disability
The Equalities Act 2010 defines a disabled person as “someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect (ie more than 12 months) on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities”.
The GLA also supports the social definition, which defines disability as “the loss or limitation of opportunities that prevent people who have impairments from taking part in the life of the community on an equal level with others due to physical and social barriers”.
What we mean by minimum criteria
The minimum criteria are outlined in the person specification for each role. They are the key technical requirements and behavioural competencies that the job holder will need to demonstrate through their application form. Candidates who demonstrate, through their application form, acceptable performance against the requirements will be guaranteed an interview.
How to apply
If you would like to apply under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme simply complete the declaration form attached below (PDF or RTF file) and send it in with your application. We will try to provide access, equipment or other practical support to ensure that if you have a disability you can compete on equal terms with non-disabled people.
