Description of park

Lordship Recreation Ground is a large public park next to the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham. The Moselle Brook runs underneath in a concrete pipe and facilities include a skate park, a unique model traffic area and an outdoor theatre. The park was very popular until the 1980s, but has declined in more recent years.

How the park is being improved

The aim is to significantly improve the park through improving facilities and restoration of the Moselle Brook.

The Mayor is helping to fund improvements to Lordship Rec including:

  • Restoration of the Moselle Brook
  • Renovation of the outdoor Shell Theatre
  • The new Environment Centre

Progress

Work is well underway at Lordship Rec. Most of the new river channel has been excavated and work is ongoing on both the Shell Theatre and the new Environment Centre. The improvements funded by the Mayor of London will now be completed in February, although improvements funded from other sources will continue beyond this date.
