Description of park

The part of the Dollis Valley Greenwalk being helped by the Mayor’s programme is within Barnet. The Greenwalk passes through a number of open spaces. Many of the entrances are currently overgrown with fallen trees, while graffiti detracts from the area.

How the park is being improved

The aim for Dollis Valley Greenwalk is to improve the access to and quality of the river and ponds at Brent Park, improve signage and entrances and improve facilities for visitors.

The Mayor is helping to fund improvements including:

  • New signage
  • Restored footpaths
  • Improved entrances
  • New play equipment
  • Restoration of water through the ponds at Brent Park
  • Creation of a wildflower meadow

Progress

This project is progressing well. A signage strategy has been completed, work is underway to improve the footbridges and the phase 1 footpath works funded by TfL are finished. Many of the entrances are now improved, work has begun at Brent Park Decoy Ponds and the footbridges are now finished. The first new play area will be installed at the end of January with the second in February 2012.
