Description of park
Brent River Park is made up of a series of open spaces along the River Brent corridor in west London, and includes various local parks such as Pitshanger Park, Brent Lodge Park & Churchfields, Conolly Dell and Elthorne Park.
How the park is being improved
The aim is to improve access, signage, footpaths and the biodiversity value of the park, and improve the heritage and recreational value of some local parks within the River Brent corridor.
The Mayor is helping to fund improvements to Brent River Park including:
- Refurbishment of the Brent Lodge Animal Centre
- Installation of fitness equipment
- Restoration of ponds in Conolly Dell
- Restored railings
- Improved footpaths and cycle routes
- Restoration of the Long Wood boardwalk
- Provision of a community garden in Brent Lodge Park
- Biodiversity enhancements along the River Brent corridor
Progress
The majority of the improvements are now finished. These include the Animal Centre, the community garden, fitness equipment at Pitshanger Park, a number of river projects, the restored ponds at Conolly Dell and the new boardwalk at Long Wood. Work continues and all improvements will be completed by March 2012.
