Help a London Park
The Mayor’s Help a London Park scheme is improving ten parks throughout the capital, making them cleaner, safer, greener and nicer places to visit and enjoy.
Londoners voted for the parks they most wanted to see improved. The top ten parks were each awarded £400,000 for improvements.
The parks in the Help a London Park scheme are:
- Avery Hill Park in Greenwich
- Brent River Park in Ealing
- Crane Valley Park In Richmond and Hounslow
- Dollis Valley Green Walk in Barnet
- Fairlop Waters Country Park in Redbridge
- Little Wormwood Scrubs in Kensington and Chelsea
- Lordship Recreation Ground in Haringey
- Mayesbrook Park in Barking and Dagenham
- Parish Wood Park in Bexley
- Wandle Park in Croydon
The Mayor's Premier Park
In March 2009, Burgess Park in Southwark won the Mayor's Premier Park award winning £2m from the Mayor and a further £4 million of match funding secured through a partnership between Southwark Council and The Creation Trust.
