About our information

This site is designed to inspire you to explore the different possibilities for careers in London opened up for you by your degree. It’s not a league table of employers or salaries – think of it as an index of opportunities or a brainstorming tool.

The information about jobs, employers and salaries on this site comes from the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey.

A few months after they graduate, 44,000 graduates from 19 institutions belonging to the University of London receive a DLHE questionnaire in the post. This is a national survey which all universities are obliged to conduct and is used to find out what graduates are doing six months after leaving university. The information is collected in complete confidence and covers:

  • the job title and employer name
  • whether a graduate is in full or part-time work
  • whether they are in a graduate-level job
  • what the salary is
  • if they believe their degree is necessary for their job.

Some graduates continue with post-graduate study.  We ask them:

  • what and where they are studying
  • what kind of study they are engaged in (for example, postgraduate or diploma)
  • their reasons for taking on further study.

For more information about DLHE, try the Higher Education Statistics Authority site. Otherwise, go to the homepage and find out what you can do with your degree.
