Disabled students in London April 2007
'Disabled students in London’ is a review of statistics, research and policy developments relating to disabled students in further and higher education, including students with learning difficulties. It highlights some of the recent successes and failures of the educational system as it affects disabled people, and ends with a set of recommendations. The publication coincides with new powers given to the Mayor to influence education and training through the London Skills and Employment Board and through London’s
Adult Skills, Training and Employment Strategy. In addition to the full report
there is a summary and recommendations document. The full report and summary
document are available in alternative formats on request.

- Black Teachers in London September 2006
This report, commissioned by the Mayor, has

boroughs
48-50 per cent of pupils are black, yet only 16-18 per
cent of their teachers are of similar heritage. It
provides an update on the numbers and distribution of black teachers
in London, with comparative data on the distribution of pupils and
the general population, and considers what steps are necessary to address
the problems of recruiting and retaining a representative teaching
