Diwali Festival 2013

Sunday, 27 October 2013 - 2:00pm to 7:00pm

This event has already taken place

Everyone’s invited to come and celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, in London’s famous Trafalgar Square.

Diwali festival of lights

The packed line-up of free entertainment includes the best contemporary music and dance from community groups and professional artists. There’ll also be stalls selling delicious food and drinks plus a range of activities for children.

Diwali is celebrated by Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities across the world between mid-October and mid-November every year. The word Diwali means a row of lamps and represents the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.

London’s Diwali festival is presented by the Mayor with the support of Diwali in London Committee, an organising partner.
