White City Opportunity Area Planning Framework

The White City Opportunity Area Planning Framework, produced in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Transport for London was pulished for public consultation from 8 April-10 June 2011.

Olympic Park Legacy Corporation Proposals

On Monday 7 February 2011, the Mayor published proposals to create a Mayoral Development Corporation centred on the Olympic Park. These reflect the fact that the Mayor has identified this area as 'London’s single most important regeneration project for the next 25 years'. 

Points-based visa system for visiting artists and performers

The GLA commissioned an online survey to find out how arts and culture organisations and higher education institutes feel about the points-based immigration system and to gain an understanding of the impact it has had on them. The survey results were published in April 2011.

Mobility for London's social housing tenants

The Mayor is committed to increasing mobility for the capital's social housing tenants and aims to have a pan-London scheme in place by April 2011. The public consultation closed on 28 January 2011.

London's Wasted Resource

The Mayor wants Londoners and the capital's businesses to radically change the way they manage their waste, a change that will see London lead the way into a more efficient future. The public consultation for both these strategies closed on 14 January 2011. Results of the consultation along with both reports will be published later this year.

Climate Change Mitigation and Energy

The public consultation phase of the Mayors draft Climate Change Mitigation and Energy strategy closed on 14 January 2011. The Mayor’s vision is that by 2025, London is one of the world’s leading low carbon cities, with a thriving low carbon economy, some of the world’s most energy efficient buildings, a secure and efficient energy supply, and world class low carbon transport. The strategy will be published later this year.

Greater London Authority's Draft Equality Schemes

The Greater London Authority (GLA) published its draft Disability Equality Scheme, Gender Equality Scheme and Race Equality Scheme for consultation in summer 2010. The Draft Equality Schemes consultation reports present the outcomes of the consultations and the actions in relation to the consultation responses.

Climate Change Adaptation Strategy

We all need to adapt our behaviour for London's changing climate which will be at greater risk of droughts, flooding and heat waves in the future. The Mayor held a public consultation on his draft Climate Change Adaptation Strategy to hear Londoners' ideas on how we can best prepare for a changing climate by adapting our homes, communities and lifestyles. The consultation ran from 9 February to 9 May 2010 and the best ideas will be incorporated into the Mayor's future Climate Change strategies.

Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area Planning Framework

This consultation draft framework describes the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea area, current issues relating to the public realm, connectivity and legibility, transport issues, development capacity and associated social infrastructure and open space requirements. The consultation closed for public comment on 29 March 2010.

Draft Waste Strategy

'London's Wasted Resource' is the Mayor's Draft Municipal Waste Management Strategy. Public consultation closed on 15 March 2010. There will be a further three-month public consultation stage in the summer of 2010.  The Mayor will consider the responses to the consultation and make any necessary changes to his strategy before publishing it for public consultation in summer 2010.

Shaping London

On 12 October 2009, the Mayor published his draft planning, economic development and transport strategies to make London “the best big city on earth”.  Public consultation closed on 12 January 2010. 

Health Inequalities Strategy

On 10 October 2009, the Mayor published his draft strategy to reduce health inequalities in London. Public consultations closed on 10 January 2010 and a final document will be published later this year.

2009 Young Londoners Survey

During March and April 2009, over a thousand young Londoners aged 11 to 16 were questioned on the GLA’s behalf. This research helps us to understand how young people view their lives in London so that we can better address their needs.  Find out what they said.

Annual London Survey

Each year we commission a survey of ordinary Londoners on their opinions of key issues including the environment, crime and transport.  Find out what Londoners thought in 2009.

Halloween and Fireworks Survey 2008
