ERDF programme governance

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme is overseen by the ERDF Local Management Committee (LMC), chaired by the Mayor of London delegated person authorised by the Mayor.

The ERDF LMC is composed of representatives from:

  • the Greater London Authority (GLA)
  • partners representing different sectors and organisations in London

The LMC is responsible for considering and approving the criteria for selecting the projects financed under the programme.

The Mayor of London is responsible for the programme strategy, approving recommendations for awarding funding and chairing the London ERDF LMC. The GLA supports the Mayor in undertaking this strategic and leadership role.

Based within the structures of the GLA, the European Programmes Management Unit (EPMU) undertakes the overall programme management, project appraisal, payment and monitoring roles, and acts as secretariat for the LMC.
