A Cycle Hire scheme for London

The Barclays Cycle Hire scheme is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The capital’s newest form of public transport stretches from Notting Hill Gate to Wapping, and from Regents Park to Borough Market.

There are 6,000 bikes available from 405 docking stations, making cycling the first choice for the thousands of short journeys made in central London every day. Whether nipping between work and shops or home and the café, cycle hire has been designed to help make London a truly cycle friendly city.

Get started

Anyone over 14 who can use a bicycle without help but you must be over 18 to sign up as a member. We're providing information in other languages so it’s great for tourists too.

The scheme launched to registered users on 30 July 2010 and is now open for casual use to anyone with a Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card or Visa Electron. Just go to a docking station and follow the simple on screen instructions at the terminal to release a Barclays Cycle Hire bike.
