London Plan Implementation Plan

Closing Date:
29 February, 2012

The purpose of the London Plan Implementation Plan is to set out how the policies of the London Plan will be translated into practical action. It is important to ensure the effective implementation of the policies supporting the Mayor’s planning powers – in particular providing a framework for translating the trends and policies set out in the London Plan into investment decisions and plans. This Implementation Plan provides an overview of mechanisms – a toolkit – to achieve this. It also provides a more robust basis for infrastructure planning across London.

The Implementation Plan is an evolving document, and a consultation draft of the first Implementation Plan was published with an eight-week consultation period, to 29 February 2012.

The draft document will be reviewed in the light of the comments received and discussions during the consultation period. The final London Plan Implementation Plan 1 document will then be produced and is expected to be published at the end of May 2012. In the future the Implementation Plan will be updated in parallel with the Annual Monitoring Report annually at the end of each February.
