Community Receptions at City Hall

A new way to engage Londoners

Community Receptions are invitation-only events and mark a step change in the way that the Mayor and City Hall engages with London's many different communities. The evenings offer an opportunity to champion London's unsung heroes who give something back to their communities and have worked hard to make their area a better place. Our objective is to help build a united London where we think of ourselves as Londoners first and our heritage second, making the capital a tolerant place and a place of safety.

These events are attended by representatives of a range of organisations including: faith groups, black, Asian and other minority groups; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities; arts organisations; charities; local business leaders; social services organisations; people working with young Londoners and older people; and public service organisations such as the Police, London Ambulance Service and St John's Ambulance.

Eleven community receptions with a cross-section of guests from the 14 London Assembly constituencies will take place between now and 2012.
