Insist on the use of less carcinogenic fuels, such as alkylate petrols and diesel alternatives produced through the Fischer–Tropsch process. Such fuels, manufactured by Aspen and EcoPar in Sweden, have been adopted by councils, airports, construction companies and the like in Scandinavia. Not only are they better for the environment than regular fuels, but are also better for users and the public - and they don't use up valuable land resources in production, as many biofuels do. It is sheer nonsense to have "green areas" in London where no petrol or diesel vehicles are permitted, but to have construction generators or horticultural equipment in use that pump out dirty fumes.
