Why visit us?

Education visits to the GLA offer students a unique opportunity to learn about their city and how it is run, right here in the home of London’s regional government, City Hall.

City Hall’s outstanding location, near some of London’s most famous and historic landmarks, provides a fantastic venue for young Londoners to learn about the roles of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly.

The visits are designed to tie in with citizenship in the National Curriculum. Students are encouraged to think critically about topical and controversial London issues and engage in discussion and debate. Students are also encouraged to engage actively with the Greater London Authority and to appreciate the importance of voting and of understanding different political viewpoints.

With the London elections, the Olympic and Paralympic Games and numerous other great events taking place over the next year, there has never been a better time to get young people interested and involved.
