Key issues and concerns
- Police: working for fair allocation of police resources for outer London; supporting good policing strategies and innovation such as problem orientated policing; and supporting community safety through good design and crime prevention;
- Environment and Transport: traffic; air quality; Terminal 5; opposition to congestion charge around Heathrow; road, rail and tube infrastructure, including extension of the Central Line to Uxbridge to Heathrow via the Piccadilly Line and Orbital transport routes in West London.
- Economic regeneration and development: employment; job and training opportunities; defending and sustaining the economic strength of West London and addressing the pockets of need, for example, by harnessing the enterprise and cultural vibrancy of areas like Southall.
- Local Council Tax: resisting pressures 'imposed' on local authorities by central government and the GLA.
- Defending the independence of local authorities.
- Health issues
- Animal welfare issues.
