Welcome to the London Allotments website. Here you will find information on how to find your local allotment in London, the benefits of allotments, responsibilities of allotment holders, tenancy agreements, costs, funding, and links to further resources.

Having an allotment can be a wonderful experience, and it's true that the more effort you put in, the more you'll be rewarded. You need to be able to commit a minimum three or four hours each week, regardless of the weather, and hopefully more once you realise the many benefits.

It may be difficult to get an allotment immediately, but don't worry if you have to join a waiting list, you can take the time to learn all about growing fruit and vegetables while you wait! This could also be a good opportunity to learn about the tools of the trade (external link) . You might also consider joining a local gardening group where you'll be able to pick up tips from other gardeners. Do remember however, there's always more than one-way of doing things!
